Message from the Convenor
The OT AUSTRALIA Victoria 2010 State Conference held on 12 & 13 November 2010 at the MCG in Melbourne, was a resounding success!
An overwhelming 250 occupational therapists from across Victoria came together for 2 full days to celebrate our adaptive and expanding profession, network, share the latest research and technology and explore future directions. Of all delegates, 87% were members of the OT Victoria Association and 4% were members of other OT state associations and allied health organizations. An impressive 15% indicated they were students in Occupational Therapy.
The Magic in the Logo
The OT Conference logo grew from a complex creative process over many hours. It began with the idea of a seed being planted and a tree growing into its full potential. The seed metamorphosed into a spiral slowly unfolding and the tree into a person with arms outstretched , reaching into the future transformed. This metaphor creatively captures the essence of the magic that Occupational Therapist’s offer in their work. Often they are a pivotal influence during transitions because of an illness, injury, trauma or challenging lived experiences. Transforming peoples’ lives within Occupational Therapy practice is in the heart of the logo. As an Art Therapist working in Occupational Therapy I see first hand how this magic is weaved. I would like to present to you the magic in the logo!!!!
